Location:
Amelisweerd is a river forest hidden in a bend of the Kromme Rijn. This old deciduous forest on clay soil is unique in the Netherlands. The old knightly homesteads of Oud- and Nieuw-Amelisweerd and Rhijnauwen are located in the forest. Landgoed Oud Amelisweerd has a special function as a cultural center within this forest. Until recently as a museum and now as a location for various exhibitions of cultural initiatives from the area. Next to the estate is the Veldkeuken (field kitchen) where you can enjoy coffee and delicacies from the in-house bakery. This way you can combine nature, culture and relaxation in one walk.
The Galatea Art Prize
The Galatea Foundation provides Dutch artists with a migration history with a platform to increase their career prospects. We do this by organizing exhibitions and by awarding the Galatea Art Prize annually. An oeuvre prize consisting of a Galatea Medal and a contribution of 2,500 euros for the further development of the artist. This could be a special exhibition, a publication/artist’s book or possibly Artist in-Residence. The award ceremony is on October 31, unfortunately there are limited places available due to the corona measures. You cannot make a reservation for this.
The exhibition is open for audience from Oktober 14 to November 7. The award ceremony is on Oktober 31. During this period, you can visit the exhibition on thursday to sunday from 10:00 tot 17:00 in erfgoedmuseum Landgoed Oud Amelisweerd; Koningslaan 9, 3981 HD Bunnik
